Make a yeast starter for increased viability
Use this kit to make a yeast starter for your wort.
Instructions:
Bring one quart of water to a near boil.
Dissolve contents of package in 2 cups warm water.
Boil for 5-10 minutes.
Cool to 85 degrees or below.
Pour into a container (mason jars and growlers work well).
Pitch the yeast and cover with sanitized foil.
Make your yeast starter 2-3 days before your brewday, pour off liquid until you have 1/4 inch covering the yeastbed, pitch into your wort.
